Collaboration Over Competition?

Collaboration is working with each other to do a task and to achieve shared goals.

It is a recursive process where two or more people or organizations work together to realize shared goals, (this is more than the intersection of common goals seen in co-operative ventures, but a deep, collective, determination to reach an identical objective) — for example, an endeavor that is creative in nature—by sharing knowledge, learning and building consensus. Most collaboration requires leadership, although the form of leadership can be social within a decentralized and egalitarian group. In particular, teams that work collaboratively can obtain greater resources, recognition and reward when facing competition for finite resources.

Competition in biologyecology, and sociology, is a contest between organisms, animals, individuals, groups, etc., for territory, a niche, or a location of resources, for resources and goods, mates, for prestigerecognitionawards, or group or social status, for leadership. Competition is the opposite of cooperation.

It arises whenever at least two parties strive for a goal which cannot be shared or which is desired individually but not in sharing and cooperation. Competition occurs naturally between living organisms which co-exist in the same environment. For example, animals compete over water supplies, food, mates, and other biological resources. Humans compete usually for food and mates, though when these needs are met deep rivalries often arise over the pursuit of wealth, prestige, and fame. Competition is also a major tenet in market economy and business is often associated with competition as most companies are in competition with at least one other firm over the same group of customers, and also competition inside a company is usually stimulated for meeting and reaching higher quality of services or products that the company produce or develop.

Consequences

Competition can have both beneficial and detrimental effects. I think in most cases these days detrimental. Many evolutionary biologists view inter-species and intra-species competition as the driving force of adaptation, and ultimately of evolution. However, some biologists, most famously Richard Dawkins, prefer to think of evolution in terms of competition between single genes, which have the welfare of the organism 'in mind' only insofar as that welfare furthers their own selfish drives for replication. Some social darwinists claim that competition also serves as a mechanism for determining the best-suited group; politically, economically and ecologically. Positively, competition may serve as a form of recreation or a challenge provided that it is non-hostile. On the negative side, competition can cause injury and loss to the organisms involved, and drain valuable resources and energy. In the human species competition can be expensive on many levels, not only in lives lost to war, physical injuries, and damaged psychological well beings, but also in the health effects from everyday civilian life caused by work stress, long work hours, abusive working relationships, and poor working conditions, that detract from the enjoyment of life, even as such competition results in financial gain for the owners.

Hyper-competitiveness

The tendency toward extreme, unhealthy competition has been termed hyper-competitiveness. This concept originated in Karen Horney's theories on neurosis; specifically, the highly aggressive personality type which is characterized as "moving against people". In her view, some people have a need to compete and win at all costs as a means of maintaining their self-worth. These individuals are likely to turn any activity into a competition, and they will feel threatened if they find themselves losing. Researchers have found that men and women who score high on the trait of hyper-competitiveness are more narcissistic and less psychologically healthy than those who score low on the trait. Hyper-competitive individuals generally believe that "winning isn't everything; it's the only thing".

We are all too familiar with Competition becoming Hyper-Competitiveness. It's a sickening sign in society on so many levels.

As our World View has evolved it's become crystal clear to many that we all live on a round ball that actually has no boundaries other than the mental projections that have been super imposed to create the illusion of separation and competition amongst groups.

Bit by bit we are erasing those lines as we step back and see that the so called leaders of these groups tend to be these narcissistic mouth pieces for those still trying to maintain social and economic competition over our realization that we do in fact care for our neighbors well being and our own. We also realize that there are far more of us than there is them (those who have creatively constructed the illusion that they are "The Great Oz" behind the curtain....

Most of us when it comes to creating a lifestyle that allows for both quality and quantity of personal freedom acutely realize that the modern day J.O.B. (Just Over Broke) is designed to segregate us from our power to do anything other than put more Life Force and Time in at work trudging away on the "Dread-Mill" of squeezing out just enough cash every 2 weeks to hopefully make the money to pay the bills and have enough left over to make it to the next paycheck of paper to be dumped into that endless Black Hole again.

For me I have felt all alone in that fighting to NOT go over edge of Niagara Falls again all my adult life. How about you?

I've gone over that edge a few times in this lifetime and let me tell you... It wasn't pretty nor fun... I am thankful for my lifetime of sticking to maintaining a very high level of physical and nutritional fitness as that foundation I can see these attributes gave me the resilience to claw my way back each time to have another go at finding a way to truly create the Leverage to overwhelmingly go against societies currents towards calmer waters and perhaps even go ashore. (Which is code in this lifetime for whatever resources one needs to more than meet their day in and day out needs for safe and cozy shelter, quality foods, staying connected to others and sources of education.)

I can finally share that the day has emerged whereby a team of others who have been over those falls and back have met up and decided that isolation, division, separation, competition, and all it's cousins is not how best to bring together the ideas, talents, efforts of many to create the leverage so many of us need to be able to not just go against the current at the top of the water fall that wants to suck all of our time, money and creativity away but to create a solution that puts us all upon still waters where the slightest effort can create massive results in any direction we so choose. Hang with me.... I will unpack this concept more as we go along.

Thus the reason for this post.
Galileo Galilei said  “You cannot teach a man anything, you can only help him find it within himself.”

Meaning if you don't have the encoding within you of the framework of what your seeking outwardly you will never recognize it outside yourself.

How many of you wish that you could do something for a living that involved your getting paid for your expression of the talents you enjoy expressing the most and that because your talents, like combining the ingredients in a great meal of others talents and effort,  created an astoundingly tasty and nourishing meal, experience, or something far more valuable than any one of us expressing solo?

What if you and those other collaborators got paid a growing amount to more than cover your monthly money needs and that money was paid to you every month just like once a plant breaks through the soil air is provided as a matter of coarse?

What if life got that easy? Would you be able to accept and handle being appreciated and liberated from your commute, time clock, time and money worries.... For your truest contributions to a collective or collaborative effort?

Would you be able to accept that because all your doing is what you love and the sum of all participants efforts means the goal can be accomplished in minutes instead of weeks worth of time but you get paid or rewarded anyways for a week or even more equivalent time - work - effort - would that be OK with you?

Well such a Collaboration Community has emerged.

This is your formal invitation to come explore a whole new paradigm in practical income generation as a side effect of your doing whatever your talents are and time allows.

I look forward to meeting you in our Collaboration Community
